UK-based pianist and composer Simeon Walker has quickly emerged as a leading light in the burgeoning modern-classical scene following the release of his first album Mono and follow-up LP Winnow (supported by Help Musicians and PRS Foundation). Recent years have seen Walker performing and touring across the UK and Europe, supporting S. Carey, Sebastian Plano, Loscil, Marconi Union, and Erland Cooper. He has also made appearances at Latitude and Timber Festival (UK), Q3Ambientfest (DE), FAN Festival (PT), and a vast range of live music events.

Walker’s work has received regular radio play including national air time on BBC (Radio 3, 6Music, Radio 4, World Service, and BBC Introducing) as well as international appearance on Seattle’s KEXP and Berlin-based NeoFM. His music has been streamed 10 million times across a variety of online platforms, notably featuring on Spotify’s Peaceful Piano and Classical New Releases editorial playlists.

With music described as “beautifully captivating” by Gold Flake Paint and “sophisticated and elegant” by piano and coffee, Walker’s calm, introspective, piano-based instrumentals invite listeners and performers alike to find stillness, beauty, and meaning in the space between the notes as much as the notes themselves. His interpretation of Rivali by Orange and Mountains is no exception; it is a meandering and broody arrangement that wanders peacefully through poignant moments of rhythmic and melodic interest. Within the piece, Walker captures the perfect tension of rest and movement, transforming the original work with his signature sound.
